About us

We are a family farm from Veliki Bukovec near Ludbreg. Veliki Bukovec is a small town in Podravina located along three rivers: Drava, Bednja and Plitvice. We have been raising poultry on our farm for many years. From the very beginning, we have been cultivating a natural way of raising poultry that increases the quality of the meat and also contributes to the well-being of the animals.

Managing grain production allows us to fully control the food consumed by the poultry, and in cooperation with experts, the animals are provided with a diet rich in all the elements necessary for proper growth and development, while taking care of the health and safety of the animals. We process poultry meat in our own slaughterhouse and distribute it through our own butcher shops, trading houses and other butcher shops.

All with ducks

The story of our farm begins in 2000, when the idea of raising ducks and geese was born. Two years passed from the idea to the first ducks on our farm. We spent a year building a large farm where our animals still live today. In order to achieve the most natural way of raising poultry, the barns on our farm are open-type so that the animals have access to pasture and daylight.

We also built the farm right next to the Plitvice River so that we could dig water lagoons inside the farm where ducks and geese that love to swim and dive live. In the following years, we started raising chickens. On the same farm, a special barn was built where the chickens stay indoors for the first few weeks, and later they have access to grassy areas where they freely run, graze and peck at the ground to find small insects to feed on.

Production cycle

The poultry diet on our farms is based on cereals and oilseeds with the addition of other micronutrients such as vitamins and minerals necessary for proper growth and development. Corn and soy are the most common in the mixture we feed our poultry, and we get them partly from our fields, and partly from other farmers in our area.

We can say that more than 90% of the food we use in poultry nutrition is of local origin. We also do not use GMO (genetically modified organisms) seeds, so the poultry do not consume GMO mixture. Poultry that live outdoors, in addition to the mixture, also consume grass from grazing and small worms and other organisms that they find on the ground. With this method of production, we can say that all the food is of controlled origin, and the final product is of top quality.

Increase animal welfare

We continuously improve animal welfare on our farms in a variety of ways. On closed farms, we improve animal welfare in the following ways:

  • We breed slower-growing chicken breeds
  • We reduce the stocking density of the farm so that the animals can move freely
  • We turn off the lights at night for a minimum of 6 hours
  • We use straw as bedding in the barns

For outdoor poultry, we provide them with plenty of outdoor grazing space, and ducks and geese can enjoy water lagoons built just for them.

Care about the environment

On our farm, we care about the environment in every segment. Starting from using manure from poultry farming to fertilize fields, thus reducing the use of mineral fertilizers, reducing the use of energy in all segments of meat production and processing, and using recycled materials in meat packaging, we try to reduce our impact on the environment in all segments, thus preserving it.
